State Examinations
Ever Student following a Department of Education school programme is entered for public examinations. State examinations (Junior Cycle & Leaving Certificate) are held in June. Pre Junior & Leaving Certificate Assessments take place in January/February.
In-School Assessments
There are various forms of assessment in use within the school as it is school policy to regularly evaluate and periodically report the results to the students and their parents. These forms of assessment include:
- October/November Class tests (the aim of which is the early detection of problem areas which may be resolved in co-operation with the student’s parents / guardians).
- Christmas House exams for all year groups.
- February/March Pre Junior Cert (3rd Years) and Pre Leaving Cert (6th Years).
- Easter Class tests for all year groups.
- Summer House exams for 1st, 2nd and 5th Year Class
- June: State examinations
- Individual assessments by teachers are carried out on a regular basis.
